Skills Interventions

The current Skills Development project empowers school learners by providing them with counselling, life skills, and community development training. This enables them to extend these services to their peers.

The project trains high school learners aged 14–24 years (Grades 8 to 11) to become Youth Community Builders (YCBs), equipping them with the skills needed to initiate both short- and long-term community interventions.

This initiative successfully reaches and impacts large numbers of young people, empowering them to make constructive life choices and create positive, meaningful change within their communities.

The project is expected to be highly popular among learners. Two groups will be trained, resulting in a total of eight new Youth Community Builders. Should funding be secured, we aim to continue and integrate this project into the academic year.

These YCBs wants to deliver a number of community projects during the 2022 academical year including: –

Social Crime Prevention.

Providing Rehabilitation Programmes for young offenders especially scholars; and Making Provision for Diversion Programmes.

A Social Crime Crime Prevention Life Skills Project sees us providing education to learners within the school environment around gender violence and physical and sexual abuse as a preventative response
